A) a personal trainer, B) a chef, or C) a cleaning service. My answer is C….always C. Can you imagine not ever having to pick up a broom again? Mind you, I would likely still partake in a little bit of “anger cleaning” or “bust-a-move dancing cleaning” but I would be satisfied with a small amount of dusting and then call it a day. And while having DAILY cleaning may only exist in the land of the rich and the famous, affordable and regularly scheduled cleaning services are thankfully at our fingertips! Ally Levesque, owner of Absolutely Polished Cleaning Services, is a vibrant and caring business woman. She knows the value of freeing up time for her customers that otherwise would have been spent using an exhausting amount of “elbow grease.” What will YOU do with your free time?
When did Absolutely Polished open for business?
I opened Absolutely Polished Cleaning Services in early May this year, fully licensed and insured. Our uniformed staff use professional cleaning products from Swish, including the “clean green” line.
What services does your team offer?
We offer a variety! Options include: weekly, bi-weekly and monthly residential detailing, commercial/office detailing, student house cleanup, move in/move out deep cleaning, home/closet organization, post-renovation cleanup, wedding setup/venue cleanup, and party setup/cleanup.

I started this business with the mindset of offering exceptional customer service. I have worked in the customer service industry for over 10 years and one thing I know for sure is if you treat people right, they will be loyal to you. I want to make my clients feel good.
We live such busy lifestyles, with work and children and everything that is expected of us each day, it gets exhausting! I really wanted to have a client come home after a long day and really be able to enjoy some time with their family or to themselves and not have to worry about scrubbing a bath tub or vacuuming the floor. The simple gift of time is so valuable. It makes me feel good when I can take a little weight off of someone’s shoulders, and walking into a polished home can instantly do that.
Making the leap into entrepreneurship can be scary initially, tell us a bit about who you have supporting you on days of doubt.
First and foremost, I have a wonderful husband that stands behind me 100%. He supports me in every aspect of the business and I know he is so proud. Also, I have a great group of friends and family who are so supportive. My team is the business, without them this operation would definitely not be possible. I read a quote once that really stayed with me, “You don’t build a business, you build people and people build the business.” I take pride in coaching my team and making sure that we are all winning in every aspect.
Now let’s focus on the highs of being a business woman in charge! There are so many amazing moments….how did it feel when your business cards came in the mail, when you got your first five star review, and when you see your calendar filling up?
Honestly I feel on top of the world! Not necessarily because I am in charge, but because I have found my calling! I genuinely LOVE what I am doing, it’s not work…it’s my passion. I put my heart and soul into this business and I have so many ideas… this is just the tip of the iceberg! The feeling of literally being booked for a full day is indescribable, we have really taken off and it’s like ok…let’s go show what we are made of! My first 5 star review meant sooooo much to me, it’s such a reward to have someone so pleased with your service. When my business cards came in I think I showed all of my friends, co-workers and family for at least a week…I was so proud!
You are the mom to a beautiful little girl, I’m sure she is a driving force behind your determination to succeed! What is it like to be a mompreneur?
I love that – momprenuer! You know what, it keeps you on your feet that’s for sure! This momprenuer is busy, but I feel so fulfilled. I am building this business for my family, to show my daughter if you work hard, you can succeed. Be independent, be creative, be your own boss. Nothing comes for free in this world, you have to work for it. My daughter makes me want to do better, be better and work harder. It can be exhausting being a mother and running a business, but it’s absolutely worth it.
How do you rate the importance of social media when starting up a company? What is your favourite platform?
Social media is SO important when starting up a company and Facebook has been a huge platform for me. I have booked a lot of clients through business exposure on my Facebook page. A website is in the works, which will be another great resource, but these days you need a variety of social media to get your name out there, it plays a huge role in your success.
What other marketing methods have you been using to make your stamp on the community?
When you build a business, you want to secure a customer base. Some marketing methods we have used so far are flyers, posters, value additions, referral networks, follow up and feedback from our clients, the internet and number one, word of mouth. Happy customers tell their friends and family!
How would you like your company to look after being in business for one year?
I am driven to be the best at what we do. I hope that people will see our team out in our branded shirts and know the name “Absolutely Polished.” I would love to see growth in our clients and team and be recognized in Kingston and surrounding area as a leading professional cleaning service.
What would be your perfect idea of a celebration to mark that first successful year?
The perfect celebration to mark a successful year would be to give back!! I would love to give some free services away to our loyal clients over our first year and show them how much we truly appreciate their business! On our one year mark I am going to have some killer prizes to give away…so stay tuned!
